Psalm 82:3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Good Morning Everybody,
Our family grew by six kids this week! Sunday evening we added 7 year old Jesus, 9 year old Rosa, and 10 year old Antonio. They have seemed to really assimulate well and act like they’ve been here a year already. Then yesterday afternoon, we had three more come to us; 5-year-old Emmanuel, 9-year-old Brandon, and 12-year-old Janely. All these kids have experienced the death of their father. Please pray for Emmanuel especially today as it will be his first day in school and he’s pretty scared. These kids came with nothing more than the clothes on their back so Amber has been busy running to town to purchase what is needed. Buying wardrobes for six kids when money is tight can be VERY stressful. But, the kids are all happy with what they got.
To let you know how well our first kids are assimulated I stopped by the school today and when Jesus saw me, he shouted out at the top of his lungs, “Brother Steve!”. He came flying over and launched himself at me to give me a big hug. He is so cute and full of so much personality that it should be illegal. His sister, Rosa, was trying to shoot baskets and she said, “Brother Steve can you make one?” She handed me the ball, and when I went to dribble it, it didn’t bounce back, it stayed flat on the ground! After I got over that laugh, I made my basket and went in to talk to the teachers about the new kids. On the way out they all had to say good-bye and that they would see me at 11 a.m. They’re pretty special.
Please continue to pray that the family of Jorge and Gabi will be able to make it to church. I know it means a lot to them and they have been faithfully attending with their kids when they don’t have to work.
Sorry this update is short, but it’s 9:00 and we have two school meetings, a meeting at the presidencia, normal shopping, a meeting with a local group that wants to make a donation to the home, chickens to feed, goats to attend to, rabbits to take care of ….etc.
