Weekly Update
Hello Everyone,
An update on last weeks update: Last week we wrote to you about Jacob leading his friend Edgar to the Lord. A couple of days later, we found out that Edgar went home that night and told his brother Luis how his life had been changed. He explained the gospel as Jacob had presented it to him and the result, Luis also accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour that night. That's how you can tell the sincerity of a boy's decision - he couldn't wait to tell somebody else. For those of you that never make it to Mexico, you'll be able to meet Edgar and Luis in Heaven someday. They'll be the ones standing there, wanting to shake your hand, and say thank you for caring enough about their souls to send missionaries to reach them. And it won't stop there. Hopefully your arm will be completely worn out from shaking the hands of all the souls that are kept from the depths of Hell because of your faithfulness. Thank you.
By the way our web site is undergoing some changes, please be patient while we get everything put together. We are working on making some of the pages bi-lingual and intend to put on a link sharing the gospel. Thanks to the Jaqueses for their hard work on this.
In related news, we have been presented with a wonderful new opportunity to share the gospel with teenagers and young adult men. Our friend, Antonio, and one of the leaders of his soccer team, asked us if we would sponsor their team this year. The cost wasn't too bad, and through gifts from some of your fellow supporters, we were able to do this. The good part is we get to advertise on the team shirts. We have decided to put our web site address on the back of each jersey. Then we would like to take pictures at each of the games and put them on our web page. We will be printing our web site address on some tracts to hand out at the soccer games to the opposing teams and tell them they can go there and see their pictures. We know most of them don't have internet access at home, but most of them know where they can get on the internet to see pictures of themselves. We know that they love seeing themselves in pictures on the internet. This will put a gospel tract in each of their hands, plus this will give us the opportunity to put them in touch with the gospel via the internet.
Last week we were able to take the kids to baseball and we also got up early one morning (too early) and took some kids on a fishing trip. Only two of them had ever been fishing, and they had only been once before and it definitely showed. We didn't catch anything but rocks and weeds. Juan Carlos almost caught Emmanuel, but couldn't even manage that. We also took with us someone we lovingly referred to as U.M.P. (Unidentified Mexican Person). We thought he was a teen-aged friend of Miguels and Miguel thought he was our friend. After a couple of hours, we found out his name was Andreas and he heard the kids talking about going fishing the night before at the part and decided he would show up. He had a good time, hopefully we will see him some more and be able to share the gospel with him also. After they got bored with fishing, they went hiking and mountain climbing. See pictures below.
More to come next week. Please keep praying diligently for us, especially this week that God will show us the open door that He is preparing for us. Please take a moment right to pray for us and the people of Jerez.

Steve, Amber & Kids

Weekly Update
Hello Everyone!
Back to the weekly updates. Praise the Lord we were able to get our phone lines back in working order today. This means that our internet is back also.
The trip back was very uneventful. We crossed all the check points without having to stop at all, even where they check Visas. We were missing one important document necessary to get all of our visas, but God took care of that little problem. . . they didn't even check for it. We have it, but we had left it in Mexico. God is good.
The best news is the most recent news. Jacob was out playing with one of his friends named Edgar. Edgar is one of the rich kids here in town. Our kids are memorizing the book of James and we talked about treating people differently because of their social status. For us it's the opposite problem, we tend to lean towards the poorer folks. We talked about how important it is to realize that the rich people here need Jesus just as badly as the poor people. Jacob asked Edgar if he was going to heaven to which Edgar replied, "Yes." Jacob asked him how he knew and he said it was because he was good. Jacob went through the plan of salvation quickly and Edgar said he wanted to ask Jesus into his heart. Jacob then led him through a prayer and there was great rejoicing in heaven as well as in our home! He then shared a gospel tract with Edgar that gave practical steps after getting saved (thank-you to all the kids at Wilson Creek Baptist Church) and a New Testament and Mailbox Club Lesson. I don't know who was more excited, Edgar or Jacob. Want some excitement in your Christian life? Ask Jake how to get it.
We're getting back into the swing of things. Please take a moment right now to pray for us.
