Weekly Update Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Good Morning Everyone,
We have to start off this weeks update with a praise report. Our church was full Sunday! Every chair was occupied except two, and there were children who were being held that could have filled them also. This was very encouraging as attendance over the past month or so had been dwindling a bit.
Another praise; we were able to start our "official" visitation program this past Saturday. We were able to talk to quite a few people and give them an invitation, and some tracts, along with a John/Romans. Brother José would ask the people if they were able to understand when they read their Bible. Not one of them could. One lady, when he asked what she couldn't understand that she had been reading, let the Bible fall open, stuck her finger down and said, "Here." It was in Deuteronomy. José started from the very verse that she had her finger on, and worked his way around to the plan of salvation. It was impressive. It brought to mind Philip and the Eunuch in Acts 8:35, "Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus." We're anxious to see how God will bless this effort.
We really need your prayers. We were informed last week that our oldest daughter, Mary, is planning on getting married in December. That means another previously unforeseen trip to Florida this year and in the month when finances tend to be a little short, probably due to Christmas. We know that God always supplies, it's just the nail-biting-few-weeks-of-wonder that you experience waiting to see how He's going to do it this time. Seriously though, please remember to pray for us even more diligently as we again search God's will in making our travel plans.

Weekly Update Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Hello Everyone,
We have a few updates for you. Lupe had her baby, a little (and do I mean little!) girl. She doesn't have a name yet. It usually takes about a month for them to decide on a name here. Our other Lupe (the one with cancer) had her operation and seemed to be doing better, but recently has taken a turn for the worse again. Please continue to pray for her.
Yesterday we went back out to the city of Rio Grande. If you remember a couple of updates ago we told you that we had been there but couldn't find the church and would have to go back. Praise the Lord we found the church, with Pastor Pepe's help and were able to sit down and talk with the pastor and a man who runs a mission out of that church. It was a good time of fellowship and getting acquainted, and we look forward to working with them in the future.
We took a two-and-a-half-hour trip to the other side of the state and met with a family there who have been doing Bible studies for the past few months with a fellow missionary here. The wife is definitely saved, but the husband has not come out and really stated his commitment. He has the right answers to the questions about salvation, such as, "Who is the only One who can forgive sin?", etc. We plan on going back with a group early next year to do Gospel saturation. Please pray for this family and this city.
We were able to go visit with Pastor Miguel this past weekend and attend one of his church services. He has such a tender heart for the Lord's work. Please pray for him as he serves the Lord, not just in Fresnillo where he lives, but also in the other mission works that he has going on. We feel blessed to be able to be friends with a man of his caliber.
Please remember to continue to pray for our family. Satan, as always, attacks vigorously when we are starting new projects and he knows how to hit where it hurts the worst. But God is faithful, and we are striving to be faithful also, being grateful that He counts us worthy of this calling (Ephesians 4:1) and that Satan agrees with Him.

Weekly Update Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
Hello Everybody,
Wow, we've got some catching up to do. We were on our way home from a Missions Conference in New Mexico last week, and that's why we didn't get the update out. We had a great time and God really spoke to our hearts. We also were able to attend a two-day pastor's conference and that was a blessing also. We want to thank Earl and Rhonda Mitchell and their son Jason for letting us stay with them and really going the extra mile to entertain us. Also thanks to the rest of the folks at High Plains Baptist Church for their generosity and hospitality.
We had a wonderful day Sunday! It started off with having two first-time visitors at church and we praise the Lord for them. Then after church, we took Brother Jose and his wife Marta off to Zacatecas to attend a baptismal service/pastor appreciation dinner at the oldest Baptist church in our state. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and it was great just to get out and relax together and meet with other believers.
We are trying to organize a formal visitation program. We'll be starting it this Saturday (hopefully) please be in prayer for this as this is another big step towards church growth.
We have another praise. For anybody who's visited us in the past, you know we're skimpy on our hot water. For those who haven't visited us, let us explain our normal water schedule. We get up early and light the hot water tank, then as soon as everybody is done showering, we run out quickly and turn the tank back off. Any hot water we need for the rest of the day is heated in the microwave. The reason for this is that the hot water heater is shot. But, WE HAVE A NEW ONE!!! The Lord has provided an on-demand hot water heater. This means that we can have hot water at any time during the day (or even at night) with less expense than what we had running the old one an hour or two in the morning. Unless you have been without hot water on a regular basis, you'll probably not understand what a huge blessing this is. But for us, it's HUGE!
For those of you who are interested, we have a new state-side telephone number that we can be reached at. It's a broad-band phone. If you're interested in the number, just e-mail us.
