Weekly Update Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Good Morning Everyone,
God is good and so powerful, isn't He? We brought you the special prayer request last week about the situation in our mission work here, you brought it before the throne, and God miraculously made some drastic changes. Over the week, the two men who had made the public fuss in a service got together, worked it out, and apologized in front of the church this past weekend. If you understood the machisimo here, you would be even more in awe of our unbelievably able Heavenly Father. Thank you so much for undertaking your part in such a faithful fashion.
Friday evening Amber and I did the Bible study on the other side of Zacatecas. Jim and Laura had meetings in Durango so we volunteered to fill in the gap. We asked Juan Carlos if he would like to go with us in case we needed help with some of the translation. He seemed very excited about going and the thought occurred to us that he could lead the study. We gave him the material two days before we left so he could have time to go over it and when we got there he did a wonderful job. He was so excited. He said he never knew that he would enjoy leading a Bible study so much. We encouraged him that he needs to be baptized (something he's been talking about a lot lately) and finish the discipleship classes and that we could use him a lot more in the future. He seemed very excited about this challenge.
We went calling this past Saturday, trying to visit some people that hadn't been to church for a little while. We ended up going to the hospital to visit one of our ladies. She is diabetic, and the diabetes is causing her many problems right now. Her name is Consuelo. While at the hospital, we had the opportunity to share the Gospel with a couple of elderly ladies. They both prayed to accept Christ also. Please remember Consuelo, Nicoleza, and Maria in prayer.
We also tried to find Carolina, a lady who moved into a new home. We never did find her, but met a lady hanging up laundry, who asked if we were from Alcoholics Anonymous or some similar group. Her son is a drunk and an addict. We were able to share the Gospel with her also, and we invited her to church. It's so sad to see these problems, and to have the solution, but they reject it. Please pray that God will work in her heart, and then use her to reach her son and the rest of her family.
We will be leaving this morning, heading back to the states. Our oldest daughter is getting married this weekend. We plan on spending Christmas there in the states, then returning here the first week in January. We will again be traveling many, many miles over the next couple of weeks, so once again, we ask you to please keep us in your prayers. Also please remember Juan Carlos while we're traveling. He had wanted to come back with us, but was unable to get the appointment he needed.
